LLL, SLS and the Wine 4 Good
25 Feb 2022 · Staff Writer On the 11th February 2022, senior students consisting of participants from the Listen, Live and Learn programme and the general Senior Living Spaces descended Simonsig with one mission: to learn and share in the wine for good. Denzel Swarts, the brand ambassador and winery manager for Simonsig, founded a three-tier wine line under the WINE 4 GOOD initiative, with support from Simonsig in order to raise funds and mobilise resources to support the Son of the Soil educational support initiative. The wine line consists of: After an eventful day that was concluded with a feast around a farm table on the relish spit braai, a pact was formed. As part of the growing strategic partnership, participants in the Listen, Live and Learn will mentor learners enrolled in the Son of The Soil initiative as part of LLL’s annual project so that participants could be immersed in real-life opportunities to make positive impact, while learning and building on their soft skills. A visit to campus by the learners in the Son of The Soil has been scheduled by the Listen, Live and Learn for 26th March 2022. Among others, the learners are expected to be exposed to what Stellenbosch University offers, with its world-class facilities. The day will be concluded with a mentor-mentee interaction with career path charting as the key outcomes to spark the learners’ mind to think more about their potential career path, and start working towards it.
